2. Data we process

Depending on how you use Faura, we may process:

• Identity and contact data (name, email, company name).
• Account credentials and authentication logs.
• Images you upload or capture for visual search.
• Usage data (device type, app interactions, approximate location derived from IP).
• Support correspondence and survey responses.
• Billing and transaction records for paid plans.
• Brand catalog metadata supplied through partner tools or API.

3. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR Article 6)

We process personal data on the following bases:

• Contract — to provide the service you request, manage your account, and deliver paid features.
• Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, prevent abuse, improve matching quality, and understand aggregated usage, balanced against your rights.
• Consent — for optional cookies, marketing email where required, and certain analytics where consent is the appropriate basis.
• Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.

4. Image processing

When you submit an image, it is processed to detect garments, attributes, and relevant product matches. Images may be temporarily cached to improve performance. We do not use your private uploads to train public models without a clear, separate consent where required by law.

Brand partners control catalog imagery they upload and are responsible for ensuring appropriate rights and transparency toward their customers.

5. Recipients and transfers

We use infrastructure, analytics, email, and payment providers that process data on our instructions under Article 28 GDPR data processing terms where applicable.

If data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Marketing communications

If you sign up on faura.io, subscribe in the footer, or opt in elsewhere, we may send product updates, launch announcements, and onboarding emails. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@faura.io.

We do not sell personal data. Marketing is sent only where we have a valid legal basis, typically consent for consumer promotional email in the EU/EEA.

7. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes.

Support tickets are retained according to our internal records schedule. Image query logs may be retained in shortened or aggregated form for quality monitoring.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port certain data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

• Submit requests to privacy@faura.io. We respond within one month, extendable where complexity requires it.
• You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Ireland: Data Protection Commission, www.dataprotection.ie.

9. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong password and protect your device.

10. Children

Faura is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate parental consent where required by law.

11. Automated processing

Visual search uses automated classification to suggest product matches. These outputs are recommendations, not binding decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

12. Subprocessors

We use vetted infrastructure, email, analytics, and payment providers under data processing terms where Article 28 GDPR applies. A current list is available on request from privacy@faura.io.

• Cloud hosting and database (Supabase, commercial cloud providers).
• Email delivery (transactional email API).
• Google Cloud (vision and search services where enabled).

13. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. The date below shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required.
